Fred was the most senior and powerful trading official ever employed by the TSE. He reigned supreme from 1966 to 1982. He was often referred to as the "Policeman".He had absolute discretion. His word was law on the trading floor. His decisions were final, binding and non-appealable. The only officials that have such authority today are the umpires in baseball - you're right even when you're wrong.
Fred passed away peacefully on October 15, 2001 and is tremendously missed by everyone.
