This is an original CATS terminal from 1977. The terminal was designed for "one handed use". It was always assumed that an office trader would have one hand on the telephone. Secondly, the letters (in blue - centre) are set up alphabetically. This was because 99.9% of the traders were men and had never been at a typewriter keyboard before. There were three small windows on the screen (well before Bill Gates came up with Windows). A black and white lettered screen was the best available. The terminals were discontinued in 2000.
